Household items can be an expensive necessity that can seriously affect your household budget. From cleaning products to toiletries, everyday basic essentials can cost a lot of money. 1. Old Clothes

After washing your clothes, put that old dryer sheet to good use. Dryer sheets are perfect for removing lint off clothing, and they also make a great drawer freshener. Simply place the used dryer sheet in a drawer to keep your clothes smelling fresh and clean.
4. Plastic Bags
If you find you have an abundance of old newspapers around the house, why not put them to good use? If you want your shoes to remain fresh, simply stuff them with old newspaper while they are not in use. Or, newspaper is great for storing breakable items. Simply wrap the delicate item in newspaper and it will be protected from damage. If you feel guilty about throwing away all those old plastic grocery bags, get rid of the guilt by putting them to use. If you have pets, used plastic bags are perfect for cleaning up after them. Old plastic bags also provide great storage of items you need to store away.
5. Lemon Wedge
Sure, a lemon wedge is perfect to add to food or water, but did you know it can also be used to freshen your breath? Simply squeeze the lemon on your tongue and you will instantly have fresher breath. A lemon wedge can also help rid your hair of dandruff.
6. Baby Powder
If you are rushed in the morning and do not have time to wash your hair, baby powder makes a perfect hair refresher. Simply apply the baby powder to your hair and it will absorb oil leaving your hair fresh and clean looking.
7. Newspaper
These are only 7 of the many ways you can get further use of household items. For many families, money is tight so why not find alternative uses for items you already have in your home?
