A geothermal heating system gives heat to building or other environment without any side effects. It is great enough to heat an entire building without any furnaces or boilers. In Geothermal Heat Systems only geothermal heat pumps are used for heating.
Geothermal heat pumps are just like ordinary heat pumps. In order to provide heating, hot water and air conditioning, they use the underground heat instead of outside air. They are the most efficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologies as they use the earth’s natural heat.
The Earth stores the heat within it right from the stage of formation of the planet. In order to use this heat that is retained underground within the earth, we can pump it out with the use of a geothermal heating system. A heat pump is a device that takes the heat from the earth and transfers it into the homes and other buildings.
Geothermal heating systems provide heat to a building, cool the building and cut energy costs. They use less amount of energy than electric heaters and produce more heat. Geothermal heating systems can be used to cool the buildings in addition to the heating which only depends on the direction of transfer heat. In summer when you don’t need the earth heat, you can use the heat the water for use.
You have to install the underground loops or network of pipes connected to the source of underground heat through a pump. Some liquid is circulated through these pipes to transfer the heat from earth to the buildings in winters and vice a versa.
Geothermal Heating Systems have some advantages they are:
• These systems are fresh, dirt free and natural energy sources
• They are without noise.
• They save energy and prevent pollution.
• They help in preventing global warming.
• They last twenty to thirty years and require no maintenance.
• You can save up to 50% on your energy bills.
• They use 30% lesser energy than a standard heat pump.
