This month’s event was put together by our dynamic new committee. It’s bound to be a great event, so don’t miss it.
WHAT
We’re meeting on Tuesday the 10th from 6:30-9:30+/- at Agraria. Agraria is part of the waterfront restaurants and overlooks the Potomac. There will be an extended happy hour and the speaker will be Dr. Steven Smith who works for PNNL doing climate research. Steven will present a brief talk and show a few slides on the following:
1) What is the scale of the climate change problem, and what will it take to stabilize atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations in the upcoming century?
2) What is the role and importance is of advances in technologies that supply and demand energy?
3) Where does bioenergy fit into greenhouse gas mitigation?

Agraria Restaurant is at the Washington Harbor, 3000 K Street, NW- Fountain Level. It is closest to Foggy Bottom metro which has a Blue Shuttle option and their is also access via the circulator which drops off in Georgetown.

Dr. Smith was a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report on Emissions Scenarios. He also has served on the Panel on Public Affairs of the American Physical Society as well as on the Executive Committee of the APS Forum on Physics and Society.
