Living green for kids

We as parents are always worried about kids and their future. We keep trying to find ways for keeping our kids healthy and secure their future in every possible way we can. Living green is one such way of bringing a brighter and healthier future for your kids.
The big question here is, how to encourage kids to be more environmentally friendly, as this can really be challenging. Most obvious reason is that they don’t see the bigger picture of benefits of green living and they might not completely understand the significance of preserving our planet. This can only be achieved by showing them simple, small ways of how going green is cool. It’s high time and a wake-up call for parents and their kids on eating and living green.
You can’t ignore the impact we have on our environment and what all problems and issues it may create in the future for our kids. We have just one planet and we want our children to enjoy it for many years. So, you need to find ways so that you can cut down on the impact you and your family has on the environment.
Here are some awesome tips on eating green, and the way it can help both our environment and our health. The helpful tips:
1. Only buy food products that are harvestable or sustainable. Choose foods that don’t jeopardize living species or land.
2. Make it a habit to have at least one meal of sustainable fish or sustainable vegetables instead of red meat. This will dramatically lower the carbon footprint because the raising and processing of most red meats produces considerable amounts of carbon dioxide.
3. Make all your purchases from your local market. This will not only save fuel/gas but the things you buy will be fresh and would have traveled less distance to improve your local economy.
4. Dung all your food waste. This will be the best eco-friendly science project for your kids and you’ll get manure for your garden as well.
5. Encourage your kids to raise their own vegetables, fruits from seeds, performing all activities, and seeing and eating the fruits of their labor.
6. Buy locally grown organic produce and prepare meals that are proportioned in all required nutrients. Your meals should contain whole grains, vegetables and fruits. All these should be without any additives, extra sugars, or fat.
These are some really simple tips to leave a little bit smaller carbon footprint on our planet. These tips will be interesting and a healthier way of life for your kids also in the process. Your kids may not want to eat their veggies now, but if they know and realize that it could keep the entire planet longer, they might just accept it.
