Make a Difference @ Work

10 simple things you can do at work that will contribute to a healthier workplace and planet.

1. Use your own mug
(ask your barista and/or office manager to switch to organic and Fair Trade –labeled brands)
2. Use refillable pens
(made from recycled plastic, paper, timber, or from fully biodegradable bioplastic derived from corn starch)
3. Print double-sided
(collect single sided scrap paper and use it for note paper, keep a paper recycling box next to your desk)
4. Put your computer to sleep more
5. Turn your computer off when leaving work
6. Put a plant on your desk
(plants act as natural air filters, absorbing airbourne pollutants and computer radiation while replenishing oxygen levels)
7. Use a “clean and green” dry cleaner
(dry cleaners use a large amount of the chemical solvent tetrachloroethylene, a powerful degreasing agent that’s also a suspected carcinogen, can aggravate asthma and allergies and harmful to the environment)
8. Reuse printer cartridges by refilling them
(refilling cartridges and reusing them 4 times will cut waste and save up to 90% on the cost of a new cartridge)
9. Use green cleaning products around the office
10. Carpool to work, ride a bike, or take public transportation
