My House Stinks

I recently got this note via “Submit Green Ideas”  that I thought would be interesting. So here goes:

I love your blog and I just wanted to let you know about something fun and green that your readers might enjoy! I’m working on behalf of Dutch Boy, who just launched this new paint called Refresh. Basically, it eliminates odor and has zero VOC, so it cleans up the air without negatively contributing to smog and ozone (http://dutchboy.com/refresh/green / ). There aren’t many green alternatives for interior paint, and it’s about time for a non-toxic option that won’t kill us or the environment with fumes and chemicals.

Anyway, to promote this paint, they’re throwing a contest called My House Stinks. Here’s the info:

Post your ugly, stinky room story for a chance to win a Refresh paint room makeover. (http://myhousestinks.com/ )

•       Grand Prize: 50 gallons of Refresh paint & $5,000
•       2nd place prize: 25 gallons of Refresh paint & $2,500
•       3rd place prize: 10 gallons of Refresh paint & $1,000

Vote on the ugliest, stinkiest room and you could win 4 gallons of Refresh paint. If you vote, you will be entered for a chance to win monthly prizes:

•       4 gallons of Refresh paint in your favorite color & sheen
•       4 winners each month for 6 months
•       Total of 24 winners

I think it’s a great opportunity to improve people’s homes and lives and give them a fresh start. Sustainable living is a huge topic right now, in terms of materials and technology that can harmlessly harness nature for our benefit (solar power, recycled building materials, even vegetated roofs). I just want people to be aware that can be applied in other aspects, such as painting the interior of your home.
Please help us spread the word, and give your readers a chance to win an environmentally friendly home makeover!
